Getting Started

I am 52 years old and have experienced many things in my lifetime - some good, and some not so good, but many I've learned from and still seek to learn.  I'm here also to share what I have learned, as well as what I continue to learn every day.  Join me for some laughs, some new thoughts, some crafts and recipes I've made before, some I'd like to make, and some I'm giving a new twist.  We can learn together so many things - how to simplify our lives; enjoy travel; look forward to retirement; start our own businesses; as well as learn about gardening, canning, and all the things we choose to experience, research, and learn about.  If you have any questions, comment, and/or ideas, please feel free to share them and we can explore together!

Some places I like to visit around the net are:  pinterest; eternalthreads.com and redthreadmovement.com (my beautiful niece works with this charity begun and built here in Texas!); and blogs and sites about gardening, cooking, decorating the home and yard, as well as some sports, and most anything about Cherokee and Choctaw Nations, and many things generally Native American.  I love researching the history of my family and teach basic genealogy and Native American genealogy, as well as basic computer classes, and classes on buying and selling on Ebay.

All the years I've been "collecting" this and that, then the other, and some more here, and stuff there.  So, now I'm beginning to try to simplify my life, clean out, organize, and make my surroundings brighter and more fun.

I have 10 fabulous nieces and nephews, and two wonderful step-grandchildren.  I love them all, and try to spend as much time with each of them as possible.  I didn't have any children of my own, and although I've had a beautiful life, it became so much grander when my first niece was born, then my nephew, then I married my husband, Ken, and he had two kids and six nieces and nephews, then my step-daughter had two, and now I'm surrounded with all these kids of different ages and talents, my life is so much more exciting with them in it!!!  And, the adults in my family aren't so bad - my parents are very special and have always provided abundant love, lots of security, and support in everything I've done.  I have a brother who is wondermous, even if he is a brother, and his wife is lovely and sweet (how did he get her?!).  My husband's 2 brothers are really cool brothers-in-law, and their wives are super sisters (in-law) too!  I'm very blessed with the family God gave me!!

Please stop by often, take your shoes off, and stay awhile!  Bring your friends and we can do something even if we do it wrong (that's what my grandma used to say!)!  Invite others -- the more, the merrier!
